Environmental Science
A brief description of the undergraduate degree program:
Environmental Science at Western is a discipline within the Faculty of Science. Students completing Environmental Science modules will earn a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science (Honors Specialization, Major, Specialization, or Minor). The Environmental Science programs are offered through the Centre for Environment and Sustainability.

A brief description of the undergraduate degree program (2nd program):
Green Process Engineering integrates the fundamental principles of chemical engineering to the design of commercial products and processes that are safe, economical and environmentally friendly. The program also explores alternative sources of energy with reduced carbon emissions. Some of the distinguishing features of the program include the emphasis on green chemistry, green power, solar and biofuel cells, and the conversion of waste such as agricultural by-products to biodiesel and bioethanol products.

Environmental engineers minimize society’s impact on the environment, playing an integral role in designing a sustainable future. They combine mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and geology to develop solutions for a wide range of environmental problems including adapting to the effects of climate change and managing increased demand of water supplies.
