"Western apparel will not be made under substandard conditions or by those working under minimum wage, the Board of Governors has decided. Prompted by Western's Students Against Sweatshops, the university has created a "Statement of Principles for Trademark Licensing" and a Code of conduct for those doing business with the [Western] Book Store.
In addition, Western follows the information provided by Maquila Solidarity Network (MSN) closely. MSN is a labour and women's rights organization that supports the efforts of workers in global supply chains to win improved wages and working conditions and a better quality of life.
