A brief description of the certificate program(s):
In 2019 UW-Extension officially transitioned into a unit of UW-Madison. UW-Extension manages the University of Wisconsin Extended Campus which offers a variety of courses (for credit), bootcamps, degrees, and certificates, all in an online format.
As a part of this program three sustainability focused certificate programs are offered:
- Environmental Sustainability Certificate: Coursework in this certificate focuses on the environmental science behind sustainability. Learn about the interrelationship between human behavior and the environment, energy systems and emerging technologies, and how to apply this knowledge in the workplace.
- Sustainable Enterprise Certificate: Coursework in this certificate introduces business concepts necessary to strengthen an organization’s ability to implement sustainability initiatives. Learn about triple bottom line accounting, economics, human behavior in the organization, and how technology can support sustainability.
- Sustainability and Well-being Certificate: Society’s health and well-being depends on supportive environments in the areas where we live, work, and play. Acquire the skills and knowledge that empower you to advance our workplaces, communities, and beyond, towards a better future. You’ll learn how sustainability and well-being can create healthier, more equitable organizations and communities by exploring topics such as contemporary health and wellness, sustainable community design, organizational behavior, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
