The plan’s long-term goals include achieving carbon-neutrality by 2025. This will be achieved by eliminating fossil fuel use for heating, cooling and electricity, reducing solid waste production and water consumption, transportation demand management, and purchasing or creating carbon offsets.

The short-term goals include increasing the purchase of renewable electricity from 24% to 100%, increasing production of on-site renewable electricity through biogas and solar facilities, converting the campus heating plant from fossil fuels to biomass fuels, and decreasing commuter emissions through ridesharing, public transit, and parking regulations.
