A brief description of other programs or initiatives to encourage more sustainable modes of transportation and/or reduce the impact of student and employee commuting:
Because we are a rural campus, we realized that we needed a way to get students to a major regional airport for academic breaks. In spring of 2013 we began to offer subsidized bus rides to Rockford, IL and Chicago's O'hare airports at Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring Breaks as well as the last day of classes in May.

We also have full bus service in our community 6 days per week. All students ride free with their campus ID. Students who need door to door accommodations may request a special taxi punch card from the Office of Students with Disabilities to ride the taxi for free.
