This program exists throughout all the halls on campus. Examples of peer-to-peer activites include recycling contests, eco-friendly bulletin board tips, rewards for turning down thermostats, and other types of outreach activities.

The position is advertised with other leadership positions for the residence halls. Students must submit a brief application to be considered for the position. Students volunteer for the position. If there is more than one person interested in the position, there is an election held.

The students receive a general leadership training which covers the concepts of leadership and service. Kristie said, "Minimal training is provide. One hour all encompassing."

Staff members are not assigned to work directly with Eco Reps. They are advised by the student Hall Managers in their respective halls (Paraprofessional Staff). UWRF does not have financial support available for the position. Eco Reps can request monies from their Hall Council or Residence Hall Association for supplies or educational materials to support their efforts.

S.A.L.S.A. (Student Alliance for Local and Sustainable Agriculture) is a student organization that provides outreach activities as opportunities for peers to learn about sustainability topics. However, S.A.L.S.A. members are volunteer and the organization is open to all students. UWRF does not select or appoint student educators or provide any formal outreach training. Therefore UWRF is currently not pursuing this credit.
