A brief description of the garden:
The Student Alliance for Local and Sustainable Agriculture (SALSA) has just been allocated Garden Space in the Horticultural Research Area behing the Agricultural Science Building. The plot is about 40 ft X 60 ft. This spring will begin the first growing season. SALSA plans on planting crops such as tomatoes, onions, peppers, garlic, and a few others. They hope to grow enough produce to process and eventually sell their "salsa" as an organization fundraiser. The Garden plans indiciate that no synthetic chemicals will be used, nor GMO seeds. The students are aiming towards an organic and sustainably grown garden.
