Total percentage of students that use more sustainable commuting options as their primary mode of transportation:
46

A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting:
Information for this credit was gathered from the UWRF Transportation Survey which was administered in Fall 2023. Previous data was from 2017.

The survey aimed to gauge the habits of members of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls community regarding alternative modes of transportation. The Survey Research Center (SRC) distributed an online survey to a random, stratified, representative sample of 1,810 students, faculty, and staff members. The SRC collected a total of 497 responses, for a response rate of over 27%. This sample size is higher than the target sample of 362 responses, and it allows for construction of estimates with a margin of error of 3.75%, a more favorable margin compared to the statistical standard of 5% margin of error and 95% confidence interval. We were able to analyze the data specifically based on student responses to learn their commuting behavior.
