Ecological Restoration Institute

A brief description of the institution’s featured program, initiative, or accomplishment:
The Ecological Restoration Institute (ERI) supports students pursuing a career path towards restoration with skills development. The ERI offers trainings in disciplines relevant to the restoration profession to help build student qualifications after graduation. We have also been able to provide experiences for students to use these skills with restoration work on campus which provides students with a preview of projects they could be involved with within their career.

Name of a second highlighted sustainability program/initiative/accomplishment:
Earth Fest

A brief description of the second program/initiative/accomplishment:
Earth Fest is a free community celebration of the past, present, and future sustainability efforts in River Falls and the surrounding area. This family-friendly event includes live music, fun family activities, food sampling, a sustainability and wellness fair, free giveaways, and more. The event is a partnership between many River Falls organizations including UWRF and is the largest community event focusing on sustainability in our community.

Who is invited to Earth Fest?
ALL ARE WELCOME….residents and nonresidents, young and old, those involved in environmental sustainability and wellness, and more. We would love for everyone to join us at Earth Fest to learn more about sustainable actions and living! Earth Fest is a one day event, but year round programming is facilitated to make sure the education and engagement of the community is happening beyond Earth Fest.
