Annual Teaching Conference is in its 22nd year. The 2018 theme is Teaching for 21st century citizenship includes discussion on heightened political tension across the globe, the unprecedented pace of climate change, rapid technological evolution, the ever-expanding availability of information means that we must empower our students how to learn, adapt, and contribute in a changing world. The Center for Inclusive Teaching and Learning (CITL) is a comprehensive professional development center for the UWSP campus, serving both faculty and staff. The CITL provides training and support for inclusivity, teaching methods, and technology use in education The College of Natural Resources (CNR) Center for Land Use Development has numerous online publications, resources and workshops available, which are sustainability focused or related. The CNR WI Center for Environmental Education (WCEE) offers professional development opportunities to formal and non-formal educators. Focus areas include Education for Sustainability, energy education, forestry education, climate change, sustainable transportation and outdoor education sites. The WCEE Resource Library is a collection of more than 4,000 environmental and sustainability education materials is available for loan to Wisconsin educators. The WI Institute for Sustainable Technology Education periodically offers a series of short courses in sustainability including sessions on sustainable energy, bioplastics, life cycle assessment, green chemistry, and business modeling. They also host the annual Focal Point conference on campus that focuses on sustainable technologies.

A brief description of any external professional development and training opportunities in sustainability that are supported by the institution(e.g. through payment, reimbursement, or subsidy):
The UPDC Professional Development (PD) Grant Program supports professional development opportunities for all university employees. These opportunities are provided by the university to expand the knowledge base and increase effectiveness of employees in their respective areas, including developing new skills and training and retraining of personnel across all program units. PD grants are awarded twice annually during the academic year. Campus' Sustainability Program & Policy Analyst was awarded a grant to attend the 2017 AASHE conference in San Antonio. The Center for Inclusive Teaching and Learning (CITL) offers offer a Teaching Professional Development Grant.
