#1 Bike & Pedestrian Committee Vision statement: UW-Stevens Point will be safe and enjoyable for all while going to, leaving from and throughout campus, and encourage environmentally conscious transportation options through education, enforcement, engineering, evaluation and planning. Resolution objectives: Increase the health of faculty, staff, student and campus neighbors Reduce carbon emissions Present lower-cost travel options in comparison to motor vehicle travel Address concerns regarding the safety of pedestrian, bicycle and motor vehicle patterns that run across both campus land and city streets Apply for and receive League of American Bicyclists for Bicycle Friendly University status Plan to increase biking and walking trips to campus while improving pedestrian safety Create a Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan to address feedback from the League of American Bicyclists and to increase the number of biking and walking trips within campus. #2 The Green Fund mission is to encourage and fund projects that positively affect the sustainability of the UWSP campus community. The fund accomplishes this by investing capital in long term sustainable projects that affect the way our campus uses energy and our shared natural resources.

Under the general direction of the Vice Chancellor for Business Affairs, the Office of Sustainability oversees the UW-Stevens Point sustainability programming initiatives. The department works collaboratively with Facility Services, WI Institute for Sustainable Technology (WIST), WCEE Education for Sustainability (EfS), UWSP administration, faculty, staff, and student organizations to encourage and promote sustainable practices on campus.

100% renewable electricity; EPA Green Power lists; US Dept. of Education Green Ribbon Schools 2017 award winner; Fair Trade Campus designation; campus-wide composting, social marketing campaign; annual GHG inventory and Second Nature reporting; STARS reporting; increased outreach activities such as annual Campus Sustainability Day event; increased student employment within the office; administrative energy pledges; creation of Bike & Pedestrian Safety committee The Sustainability Coordinator position is responsible for the advancement of educational and environmental performance through a variety of activities including: outreach activities to individuals and organizations both internal and external to the University, project and program planning, strategic planning and leadership.
