A brief description of the management system:
USU uses the StruxureWare Building Control System to perform energy management actions. Approximately 80% of the building meters for electric, chilled water, steam, and natural gas are smart meters that can be viewed through the StruxureWare System to monitor for energy consumption and provide alerts for high energy consumption, meter failures, and HVAC operations.

A description of what systems are shut down during unoccupied periods:
During unoccupied periods, various HVAC systems and lighting are shut down or managed to save energy through this system including, outdoor air requirements, temperature set points, supply fan operation, non-emergency lighting, steam valve and chilled water valve operation, fume hood operation, warm-up and cool down procedures, and exhaust fan operation.
