A brief description of steps the institution has taken to ensure that the purchasing policy, directives, or guidelines are followed:
USU purchases approximately 30% of its cleaning supplies as Ecologo, Green Seal, or EPA certified. Facilities Maintenance in facilities is developing a policy to accompany its practices. By working with purchasers directly to make guidelines, the purchasers are more likely to abide by self-made rules. Furthermore, purchases are tracked for STARS and LEED, so changes in practice are apparent.
