Environmental, Health and Safety handles e-waste. The university provides hazardous waste technicians with 40 hours of initial training as well as an 8-hour refresher course each year.

A brief description of the electronic waste recycling program for institution-generated materials:
The university takes used computers from departments on campus. Surplus sells electronics with reuse value, and other electronics go to hazardous waste. The university's e-waste recycler, Metech, is E-Stewards certified, which requires recyclers to adhere to the highest standard of environmental responsibility and worker protection.
