Connections, a course for incoming freshmen, has a common literacy selection. In Fall 2013, the selection is The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, and in Fall 2012, it was The Beast in the Garden. Both books include environmental themes. Previous selections have often included social sustainability concepts.
Additionally, Connections classes have an optional sustainability module where a member of the Sustainability Council speaks to the course. In the future, the module will take the form of a video.
