Name or title of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
TreeTag App

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
TreeTag is a mobile application for Android designed to help users document, interact with, and better care for trees in their communities. It was developed for Vanier College in 2015 by a multidisciplinary team of students participating in a special, 3-week summer project with the common aim to create an educational and management tool for the College. The application was used to locate, photograph, and measure over 400 trees, which are preloaded on the database. Since then, the tree data has been verified and updated to record new plantings and losses. In 2019 an updated version was launched, and during the 2022-2023 year a teacher and two student interns are working to further its functionality (accessible on IOS devices and facilitate report generation). The app will be made available publicly for use by different parties: individuals, landowners, institutions, municipalities, etc.
