VCU Purchasing strongly encourages departments to be pro-active in identifying opportunities to reduce the environmental impact of everyday business activities. Departments should purchase recycled and
environmentally preferable products to the maximum extent practicable.
For major contract purchases, the buyers require vendors to provide information for evaluation purposes on the firm’s sustainability initiatives and recommendations to reduce the environmental impact and create
efficiencies.
