A brief description of the program:
Venture Out, a program within the University Unions and Student Activities department in the Division of Student Affairs offers fun, safe, and, educational outdoor services to students, faculty, staff, and the community of Virginia Tech. There are coordinated programs and events. Equipment is also available for individual rental. Typical adventures include backpacking, camping, canoeing, caving, kayaking, downhill skiing, hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, rock climbing, and whitewater rafting. Adventure programming also includes outdoor skills training, outdoor education workshops, and wilderness medical training programs. Trips include transportation, experienced outdoor leadership, and necessary safety instruction. The program’s website features and supports Leave No Trace principles.
