A brief description of the postconsumer food waste composting program:
Our post-consumer composting program began in October of 2009 with Owens Food Court. Staff in this location were trained by the Sustainability Coordinator and the composting company so that they could learn to sort compost properly and effectively. Since then, D2, Au Bon Pain (ABP) Squires, and ABP GLC have joined the program. All of our compost, pre and post-consumer, is picked up and processed by a local family operation located just miles away in Riner, VA.
