A brief description of how the institution meets the criteria:
The University maintains an active program to identify and assist small, woman-owned and minority-owned (SWaM) businesses who seek to do business with us. We have a dedicated manager assigned to perform outreach and lend assistance on a full time basis. We code our suppliers in our financial database to indicate if they are a certified SWaM business. Further, we establish goals and publish quarterly and annual reports on our goal performance. Each Dean and Department Head is provided with a quarterly and annual report depicting the spending history with SWaM suppliers in the unit for which he or she is responsible.
