A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
Sustainability has been incorporated into the materials provided to all new employees since the Summer 2011 New Employee Orientation. First, a slide highlighting sustainability efforts and resources on campus is included in the presentation given to all new employees. Second, all new employees are provided an orientation CD with information about Virginia Tech. The annual "Sustainability Guide for New Employees," provided by the Office of Energy and Sustainability, is included on each orientation CD.
The Sustainability Guide highlights the history of sustainability at Virginia Tech, provides information about the Office of Energy and Sustainability, Virginia Tech’s sustainability achievements to date, sustainability tips for the workplace, and sustainability-related resources for employees throughout the Virginia Tech campus. The latest versions of the Sustainability Guides (both for students and employees) are located on the Office of Energy and Sustainability's website.
