We are very intentional when choosing our sustainability interns. We make sure to include interns with diverse backgrounds. Out of 12 interns, 8/12 are female, 7/12 are from underrepresented groups.

Both staff/faculty employees in the Office of Sustainability have completed DEI training.
All pre-orientation student leaders (many are also paid sustainability interns) all have mandatory DEI training.

There is one member of the University Sustainability Committee who is also on the University Committee on Inclusiveness and Campus Climate. This particular person's area of expertise is through the Native American cohort. This cohort has connected up with the Office of Sustainability and discussed possible partnered projects.
