A brief description of the institution’s green athletics program:
The Generals Earth Action Leadership Program is run by student athlete coordinators (Earth Action Leaders) who integrated sustainability engagement and learning in Athletics, specifically athletic sports teams.
Responsibilities in this role include:

• Coordinating with identified team athlete leaders in each sport to organize team centered environmentally focus community service.

• Work in collaboration with Boxerwood to identify EAL activities in our community.

• Lead orientation for team leaders about the Earth Action Leadership (EAL) program.

• Providing consistent communication with Boxerwood leadership as well Green Athletics Coordinator. (Check in once a week, typically via email)

• Create an end-of-year report summarizing student-athlete and team EAL engagement and activities.

• Oversee social media engagement related to EAL engagement.

• Potentially organize EAL kick-off gathering.

It is expected that the chosen LEAD EAL student coordinators will spend 1-2 hours a week leading the EAL program.

Through this leadership, athletics teams coordinate with local nature center Boxerwoods Garden on a program called GEAR (Generals' Earth Action Rally) Up to engage in sustainability-related service.
