Environmental Ambassadors
A brief description of the student educators program (1st program):
The Environmental Ambassadors (EA) is a student-driven sustainability education and outreach program. The program seeks to create a culture of sustainability on campus by promoting sustainable social, economic, and environmental behaviors. EA members are dedicated to increasing overall student awareness of environmental actions and ways to influence positive change. Sustainability education is done through a variety of projects, activities and collaborations.
Activities organized by the Environmental Ambassadors typically include the following: Green Move In/Move Out, Free Swap, Tree Plantings, Xeriscape Projects, hosting the Intermountain Sustainability Summit, the Utah Clear the Air Challenge, Compost Bin Workshops, Student Light Bulb Exchanges, etc.
The Environmental Ambassadors President is a paid and trained position. Once hired, this student goes through a half day orientation that covers volunteer recruitment and management and peer mentoring. This person is also assigned required readings on behavior change techniques, mentoring techniques, and club management tips. This student is also required to attend WSU's Club and Orgs monthly meetings where they receive regular training on leadership, budget management, club management, volunteer recruitment, etc.

A brief description of the student educators program’s target audience (1st program):
Student leaders from the Energy and Sustainability Office run the Environmental Ambassadors Program to train a core group of students as environmental educators and activists. The primary target audience of the Environmental Ambassadors is WSU students, but faculty and staff are welcome to participate in activities as well. The efforts of the Environmental Ambassadors reach beyond the students and campus borders to help support a healthy and sustainable community.

Green Department Internship Program
A brief description of the student educators program (2nd program):
The Green Department Internship Program was offered from 2018-2019. Five students were Green Department Program interns for their respective colleges; College of Arts & Humanities, College of Education, College of EAST, College of Science, and College of Social & Behavioral Sciences. The interns in this program not only helped implement Green Department Program tasks and initiatives, but also engaged students to promote sustainability and associated events.
The Green Department positions were trained and paid positions. Once hired, these students went through a half day orientation that covered Green Department Program management, team recruitment strategies, and team auditing protocols.

Students within the Green Department Program intern's college were their target student audience. For example, the intern for the College of Social & Behavioral Sciences tabled and interacted with passing students for the Clear the Air Challenge in Lindquist Hall, where the college is housed.
