The John A. Lindquist Award is given annually to a current WSU faculty or staff person who has demonstrated sustained and outstanding commitment to mentoring WSU students in learning through civic engagement. The award publicly recognizes the time and energy staff and faculty devote to enhancing student learning and developing community partnerships.
Grants are also provided to fund civic engagement activities proposed by employees through the Alan E. and Jeanne N. Hall Endowment for Community Outreach.The objective of the Alan E. and Jeanne N. Hall Endowment for Community Outreach is to address the needs of disadvantaged individuals, families, and groups within Ogden and the surrounding communities by enhancing their educational, economic, social, psychological and cultural well-being. The Center for Community Engaged Learning (CCEL) works to engage students, faculty and staff members in direct service, civic engagement, and community research to promote civic participation, build community capacity, and enhance the educational process.
