WSU staff presented at the Intermountain Sustainability Summit (ISS): The ISS is an annual benchmark event where sustainability professionals from business, non-profits, government, and education come together, along with the next generation of leaders, to learn, share, network, and build momentum as we work to improve our communities, environment, and economy. The event brings speakers and participants from higher education institutions across Utah and surrounding states.
Faculty and staff from Weber State presented several sesions in March, 2024. Justin Owen presented Design, Operation, and Lifecycle Analysis of Grond Source GeofieldsI, Dr. An Ho presented Is Electrification Too Expensive: Real World Utah Case Studeis, Jenn Bodine co-presented Collaborating to Strengthen Sustainabilitly in Utah Higher Education: A Networking Session, and Shane Schvaneveldt presented Improving Water Sustainability in Utah Organizationsas.

Weber State University worked in collaboration with Atrius to create a case study highlighting WSU’s 5-point Carbon Neutrality Strategy, and submitted the case study to the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU). The Strategy was selected for the the 2023 AASCU Excellence & Innovation Award for Sustainability and Sustainable Development, as it had the the potential to influence other institutions with an outstanding sustainability model.

Weber State University hosts, and serves on the Intermountain Sustainability Summit conference planning committee (Bonnie Christiansen, Alice Mulder, Jenn Bodine) along with other community and higher ed input. WSU (Jennifer Bodine) serves on the Utah Climate Action Network's (UCAN) Electrified Fleets Community of Practice commitee. WSU's Energy & Sustainability WSU (Jenn Bodine & Justin Owen) also participates in the Utah Higher Ed Energy Managers Consortium, attending and hosting meetings.
