Lose Your Lawn (3 sections) - Are the dog days of summer and water restrictions taking a toll on your lawn? Do you wish you had less lawn to mow? Are you worried about all the wasted water from trying to keep your lawn green? Come learn about some great alternatives that are much smarter for our hot and dry Utah weather. We will cover techniques that help you both conserve water and create an aesthetic landscape.
Grow, Use & Preserve Fresh Herbs (3 sections) - Learn to select, grow, preserve and use fresh herbs that do well right here in Utah. Enjoy their aroma, beauty, taste, and nutrients.
Organic Gardens & Permaculture (3 sections) - Learn how to start an organic garden in your own backyard and begin growing greens. Explore the basics, such as how to compost, prepare the soil and choose the right plants.
Garden Prep & Preservation (3 sections) - Create a beautiful and productive garden by learning what to plant, when to plant, how to improve your soil, how to conserve water and how to fight insect damage.
Easy Greenhouse Gardening (1 section) - Experience the joy of starting seedlings and raising plants in your own greenhouse. Learn how to find the proper equipment to set up your greenhouse, choose plants and seeds, create a good growing environment, control pests and nurture your garden.
Is Solar Right For Me? (3 sections) - Residential solar can be an excellent investment. Come learn what makes these projects tick. We will cover solar panel physics, how utility rates work, what the economics look like and what to consider when self-installing or hiring a contractor. At the end of this class, you will be able to make an informed decision about solar for your home.
