WSU tracks the waste and recycling produced on large construction jobs which are defined as $5,000,000 or higher. This past academic year (from May 1, 2023 - April 30, 2024) WSU had two large construction projects. The first project is the major rennovation of WSU's Education building. The second large project is the MEP rennovation of WSU's Stadium Sky Suites. WSU's Energy & Sustainability Manager obtains waste and recycling tickets on all large construction jobs and calculates the amount of waste and recycling produced by the job. Here are the results for each job for the past fiscal year.
Stadium: recycled = 1.35 tons
Stadium waste = 35.93 tons
Education recycled = 1849 tons
Education waste = 634 tons
