A brief description of the methodology used to determine the total number of courses offered and to identify sustainability course offerings, including the definitions used and the process for reviewing and/or validating the course inventory :

Uncertain courses were compared to Wesleyan's draft definition of sustainability (not yet formally approved) and were confirmed with individual faculty members whenever possible.

A brief description of how courses with multiple offerings or sections were counted (if different from the options outlined above):
For undergraduate and graduate courses, each course was counted as a single course regardless of number of sections or offerings; all are listed as undergrad courses.
For Graduate Liberal Studies (GLS) courses, each offering was counted as a single course (relied on departmental reporting to determine which courses did/didn't qualify); all are listed as graduate courses. Courses that were cross-listed between different departments were only counted once per semester taught.
