A brief description of the institution’s efforts to support alternative fuel and power technology in its motorized fleet:
Wesleyan has made the purchase of hybrid or electric vehicles an institutional priority. Unfortunately, appropriate trade vehicles (trucks and vans) are not available as hybrid or electric vehicles at this time, so Wesleyan is purchasing the most fuel-efficient vehicles available. Wesleyan has also been reducing its fleet to reduce carbon emissions.

Public safety's fleet includes 7 standard vehicles, 3 hybrid gas-electric vehicles, 1 Segway, 1 golf cart, and a fleet of bicycles. Res Life has 1 golf cart. Athletics has 1 Zamboni and assorted other vehicles Transportation has 12 vans (8 and 12 passenger), 1 SUV, 1 medical van, 1 bus, and 1 car Physical Plant has 5 hybrid vehicles and 10 electric vehicles.
