A brief description of the methodology used to complete the course inventory :
Keyword searches were done using Wesleyan's course-selection software, WesMaps. See keywords tab in inventory for keywords used. Uncertain courses were compared to Wesleyan's list of sustainability explorations and were confirmed with individual faculty members whenever possible. Confirmed courses are specifically denoted in the inventory; courses not confirmed by the professor but with course descriptions matching the definition of sustainability are included and noted as unconfirmed.
Nearly all grad courses are cross-listed with undergraduate course numbers; so some of the grad courses listed are double-counted.

How were courses with multiple offerings or sections counted for the figures reported above?:
Each offering or section of a course was counted as an individual course
A brief description of how courses with multiple offerings or sections were counted:
For undergraduate courses, each course offering (in different semesters) was counted individually. Courses with multiple course sections simultaneously were not counted separately.
For Graduate Liberal Studies (GLS) courses, each offering was counted as a single course (relied on departmental reporting to determine which courses did/didn't qualify).
