When recruiting for new positions, the Office explicitly recruits international students (via the Office of International Student Affairs) and BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and FGLI students (via The Resource Center).

A brief description of the DEI trainings for sustainability employees:
The Sustainability Office is in the process of developing an equity and inclusion training for all student employees. Currently, all employees in the office attend a training on environmental justice with the Eco Facilitators each spring and DEI topics are included at most monthly all-office meetings.

The Sustainability Office and The Resource Center did a multi-part discussion series in FY 22: "Environmental Justice: A Work in Progress" with events in November 2021 and 2 events in April 2022: see https://www.wesleyan.edu/sustainability/resources/events.html for 11/2/21, 4/11/22, and 4/18/22.
In May 2021, the Sustainability Office cosponsored an event on direct action and indigenous sovereignty with The Resource Center and other campus entities: https://www.instagram.com/p/CdGn7E_Oijg/.
