A brief description of the sustainable operations and maintenance policy/program and/or O+M rating system(s) used:
All LEED-certified buildings’ operations and maintenance information is turned over to the Assoc. Director of Facilities Management, specifying LEED-approved products and materials to be used going forward. Close out documents from Construction Projects includes this information.

Wesleyan's building sustainability policy was adopted in 2017 to address existing buildings, renovations, and new buildings. In the realm of existing building maintenance, the policy is designed to ensure compliance with sustainable building operation and maintenance guidelines and policies, covering the areas of energy use and performance, water use, and materials and furnishings. Project specifications reference the building sustainability policy and identify sustainable materials. These materials include water conserving features, insulation, vinyl siding, Energy Star double-glazed windows, and CFL or LED lighting fixtures.

In addition to the building sustainability policy, all buildings connected to Wesleyan's microgrid are subject to the energy conservation policy, which establishes summer and winter temperature ranges within buildings. All buildings maintained by Wesleyan's custodial contractor, SMG, use only green cleaning products.
