The Sustainability Advisory Group for Environmental Stewardship (SAGES) brings together concerned volunteers from faculty, staff, and the student body, as well as appointed representatives from each cabinet division, to discuss and take action on sustainability issues, ideas, and projects. SAGES advises and oversees campus sustainability planning.

The Wesleyan Sustainability Office promotes an environmentally just approach to Wesleyan’s relationship with its students, faculty, staff, the surrounding community, and the world. We strive to develop an intersectional understanding of the effects of Wesleyan on people and the planet. We work to create thriving, equitable, and just communities that model individual and institutional environmental and social responsibility to affect meaningful sustainable change.

- Implemented sustainability strategic plan with faculty, staff, student, alumni, and community involvement.
- Launched WesPass and XtraMile shuttle programs to increase student and community access to affordable public transportation.
- Created a complete inventory of courses that include and/or are focused on sustainability and environmental justice topics and maintain this inventory using the internal CourseLeaf platform as new courses are added. This also identifies courses for the S&EJ course cluster.

In Fall 2022, the Sustainability Office employed 1 full-time sustainability director and 28 part-time student interns.
