A brief description of the employee wellness program, policy, or practice:
Western Washington University offers a confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and a Faculty & Staff Wellness Program (FSWP) for all employees.
The EAP offers free counseling and other programs through the Washington State Department of Personnel, and has been a part of Washington state-wide policy effective since April 1st, 2009.
The FSWP offers free Fitness Assessments, free & confidential One-on-One Exercise and Nutrition Consultations, and free or low-cost fitness classes to employees. The FSWP average cost of classes is roughly $40 per quarter, and enrolls hundreds of employees each quarter.
