A brief description of the institution’s formal participatory or shared governance bodies:
Associated Students of Westminster:
Every student currently enrolled for two (2) or more credit hours is automatically a member of the Associated Students of Westminster. ASW is led by the Student Board and includes the following five branches; ASW Executive, ASW Events, ASW Clubs, ASW Senate, and ASW Judicial. ASW sponsors a wide range of social, cultural, and educational programs, which include dances, lectures, concerts, and community service. Authority and power are established and granted respectively to ASW by the Board of Trustees of Westminster College.

The mission of Associated Students of Westminster (ASW) is to:
-Promote shared governance on campus
-Develop a sense of community
-Facilitate better communication with the faculty, staff, administration, and the -board of trustees
-Enrich the lives of students attending the college
-Provide leadership, training, and opportunities for students
-Provide a forum for student concerns

Staff Council:
The council collaborates with administration to further the college's mission and goals while fostering an inclusive and transparent environment for an engaged and empowered staff community. The council's key roles are:
-Share information from cabinet meetings with staff (grassroots)
-Facilitate inclusion
-Create ad-hoc committees and task forces
-Advocate on behalf of staff
The Staff Council holds meetings once a month to discuss council business and host an open forum. Westminster staff are invited to attend and to submit topics for discussion.

Faculty senate:
The Faculty Senate collaborates with administration to further the college's mission and goals while fostering an inclusive and transparent environment for an engaged and empowered faculty community. Within the Faculty Senate is the Diversity Council which works to advocate for equity and excellence through Westminster's policies, practices, and programs, with a keen focus on curriculum, faculty recruitment and retention, training and education, and equity.
