The SDG Toolkit serves to enable the pan-university interdisciplinary infusion of the SDGs into classrooms at York University which will reinforce the commitment to make positive change for students, campuses, and our local and global communities. Trained education leaders host workshops for faculty to teach them how to use the SDG Toolkit and leverage them in their courses. There team hosts about 1-2 workshops per month over the course of January-April, engaging about 170 faculty members. Faculty and instructors who find innovative ways to connect the SDGs to diverse interdisciplinary topics, concepts and disciplines are recognized as SDG Curricular Champions.

A brief description of the incentives that academic staff who participate in the program(s) receive:
1. The AIF provides funding to multiple Category 1 projects, supporting them to encourage academic innovation.
2. As a professional development opportunity, faculty are incentivized by the opportunity to learn how to integrate the concept of sustainability into their courses. Those members who successfully incorporate the SDGs and sustainability in their course topics are recognized as SDG Curricular Champions and have the opportunity to join a community where they can be mentors to others, offering their own experiences in their classrooms and collegially supporting instructors who wish to infuse the SDGs themselves. Incentives to become a Curricular Champion are: 1) Recognition on the York U SDG website 2) Increased knowledge-sharing amongst members of the institution to enhance the integration of SDGs into learning and teaching activities.
