A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
York University welcomes all new employees with a comprehensive onboarding training program that is delivered monthly. Sustainability is included in the orientation session for every new employee, including information about the University's values and initiatives in sustainability, an introduction to the UN SDGs, and how to get more information or become involved.

York University has developed an HR sustainability orientation course available to all employees that is now included in all employee orientation.

At York University, sustainability is a core value and the lens through which all of our actions are seen. With three core campuses and a series of satellite locations both within Ontario and abroad, York University is facilitating and creating positive change on a large scale. This training module focuses on knowledge and awareness about sustainability, the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), York University's Sustainability Strategy, York's Net Zero goal, the University Academic Plan, and the University-wide challenge to advance the SDGs.
York employees will get credit on their training records once they have completed the required learning module.

This course was developed by the Office of Sustainability.
